Children's-Activities

SUNDAY SCHOOL – We have year round Sunday School for children two years through 5th grade. We use the Live Big curriculum and provide variety of activities that help Bible Stories come to life and connect with the children’s lives. Our teachers and leaders love children and help kids get connected and feel at home.

NURSERY – We have childcare during each service of worship and during Sunday School. Our sitters get to know each child and their parents. A daily info sheet is given to parents to let them know how the nursery time went for their child. The children’s safety and well being is our top priority. We want even the littlest ones to learn that church is a fun place to be and at church you are loved and accepted!

BASIC TRAINING – This is our upper elementary fellowship group. Designed especially for 3rd through 5th graders, this group meets twice a month during the school year, once for fun and fellowship and once to serve others. Each time we gather we pray, connect with each other, and share in a devotional. By the way, BASIC stands for Brothers And Sisters In Christ.

WELCOMING CHILDREN TO THE LORD'S TABLE – This is a workshop for children and their parents on the sacrament of communion. Kids get to bake communion bread and learn about what the Lord’s supper means, appropriate attitudes and behaviors, and Jesus’ last meal with his disciples.

JR. CROP WALK – This fall event is held for children in strollers up through 5th grade. Kids participate in activities designed around hunger education and the event is concluded with a short walk around the Steeleberry neighborhood.

THE BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR JESUS – This early December event is designed for children 2 years – first grade. The children bring a gift that is given to children in need and participate in hearing the Christmas story, Christmas games and crafts. Of course no birthday party would be complete without cake and ice cream.

EASTER EGG HUNT – This event is held on the church grounds with different egg hunts for different age groups. Before the hunt there are activities that celebrate Christ’s resurrection, and a telling of the real meaning of Easter.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL – This week long celebration is held in the summer during the evenings so that all age groups can participate. Supper is served each night and the building is decorated with that year’s theme. This is a favorite of many in Steele Creek, and an intense and fun week of Christian growth!
