David is also a member of ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers), and serves on the Board of Directors of Metropolitan Music Ministries here in Charlotte.

Having served several churches in Wilmington, Lumberton, Gastonia, and Charlotte, he and his family are delighted to now be associated with Steele Creek Presbyterian Church. David is married to Annette Baker Hines, who is a Professor of Nursing at Queens University of Charlotte.

Their son Mark is in music production/recording, and lives in Cary, NC. Son Joseph is in 7Th grade at Mint Hill Middle School.

David’s attitude/philosophy about church music has continued to change and develop. David strongly believes that many musical styles can be incorporated into a meaningful worship experience. Classical/Traditional. Contemporary Christian, Gospel, Jazz, Spirituals, and Taize are styles that will be a part of David’s approach to building the music ministry here at Steele Creek Presbyterian Church.
