Children's Summer Camps

If your child is planning to attend Camp Grier this summer and has not registered; now is the time to do it! There are many date options for camp; however, a group from Steele Creek plans to attend July 24-29. Steele Creek is an official Sustaining Congregation so you will receive a discount on-line by using our code - 242016. In addition, the church will provide a $100 scholarship to all members attending camp this summer. To receive the scholarship from the church, you must register by May 31. Please let me know when you register so I can be aware of when our children are going to camp! -Lorie Lewis

Ashe County Ministry

We will be taking the truck to Ashe County on Saturday, June 10th. Any clothing or household goods you do not need, will be much appreciated by the mountain people. Please bring these things to the Church office. If you have time to help, we will load the truck on Friday, June 9th around 3:30 pm. Thank you for all you do to help the people in Ashe County. Thank you, Marion Briggs

Summer Sunday School for Preschool - 5th grade will kick off on June 4 with a program by Instruments of Christ. This organization introduces children to a relationship with Christ through music and playing instruments. It should be a fun (and loud!) event. We will meet in the K-2 classroom and they will begin promptly at 9:30 am so there will be time for everyone to work with an instrument.

The rest of the summer will be full of learning about local mission organizations and participating in projects that help their ministries.  Some of the organizations we will work with will be Crisis Assistance Ministries, Urban Ministries, The Ronald McDonald House, and Port City Project.
